The objective of PROX is to eliminate trace amounts of CO in H<sub>2<\/sub> by selectively oxidizing CO, while not burning any H<sub>2<\/sub>. Sravan&#8217;s research builds on our previous discovery of the <a href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1126\/science.1256018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">co-catalytic role of water for CO oxidation<\/a>, but goes beyond that and demonstrates that water modifies the active sites at the <span style=\"display: inline !important; float: none; background-color: #ffffff; color: #191e23; cursor: text; font-family: 'Noto Serif'; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;\">Au\/TiO<\/span><sub>2<\/sub> interface.
